BARTOLONE'S LIFEGUARD
& CPR TRAINING  LLC

Overview

Seasonal American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor for a small but growing business for 2026 Spring & Summer. Instructors will get to choose the classes they wish to teach that work with their schedule. Classes usually take place on the weekends Saturday and/or Sunday. Classes will take place at various outdoor swim clubs/pools or summer camps throughout Central NJ and Eastern PA (Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Bucks, Somerset, Burlington, Union Counties).

 

What Your Teaching:

• Lifeguard Certification (Blended Learning) (full classes) with or without a co-instructor

• Lifeguard Recertification with or without co-instructor

• Co-Teacher Waterfront Certification Module

• CPR/AED/First Aid

Working Hours:

• Saturday and/or Sunday from or between 7:45 am - 6:30pm

• Instructors will be expected to arrive 10 - 20 minutes before 7:45am to sites to set up / unload equipment.

• Some Tuesday and Thursday Lifeguard Certifications will be available to pick up.

Qualifications:

• Must be an current and valid American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor.

• Past experience preferred but not required. Instructors with experience will get priority in choosing classes. New instructors will work with a co-instructor for experience and hands on training if needed.

• Teachers and Coaches are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the safety of all people who enter the pool area or in the classroom.

• Follow American Red Cross Manual, Lesson Plans, and Code of Conduct.

• Cover all material required for each course.

• Use corrective feedback to evaluate participants’ progress and correct problems.

• Ability to adapt your teaching approach to match the experience and abilities of the participants.

• Administer and score the final examinations

• Lead classes and possibly co-teach with other instructors.

• Transport Equipment to and from class locations (manikins, rescue tubes, backboards) - all equipment, supplies, and materials will be provided.

• Enforces pool safety standards and facility operational rules for all individuals using the facilities.

• Establish and maintain a good public relations image for Bartolone's Lifeguard & CPR Training.

• Maintain and clean equipment between classes.

Miscellaneous:​

• Instructors will be responsible for picking up required course supplies at Head Quarters in Monroe Township NJ (08831) one or two days prior to class or find a common meeting area to receive supplies. 

• Course Records will be entered by Bartolone's Lifeguard & CPR Training

• Seasonal Instructors will serve as sub-contractor with no benefits and no health insurance.

Pay:

Pay: $16.00 - $36.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 25 per week
