I. Attendance, No Show, and Refund Policy: When you register for a class, you are not entitled to take part in the class until you receive a confirmation email and unless there is a spot open in the class. By signing up, you agree to attend all days of the class and pay for the class through a valid credit card. If you can no longer attend the class, you are responsible for notifying Bartolone’s Lifeguarding & CPR Training LLC 4 days prior to the start of class. The attendance policy will be strictly enforced. Your credit card will be credited the following amount if dropping out of class after the mandatory 4 day notification. Please note, there is a non-refundable $10 service fee for using electronic payments that can't be refunded.
3 days before class: 75% Refund
2 days before class: 50% Refund
1 day before class: 25% Refund
No Show / Cancel Day of Class: 0% Refund / No Refund
If a participant fails a Lifeguard Prerequisite to enter into the class, the student will receive a 50% refund back to their credit card (except for a non-refundable $10 service fee for using electronic payments) in 3-5 business days.

II. Illness: American Red Cross training courses have attendance requirements to meet state and local protocols. If you cannot attend a course due to an unexpected illness, a same day doctors or Urgent Care note will be required. If a student is hospitalized, discharge papers will be required. Note: All doctor and urgent care notes will be verified with the associated practice before a 50% refund is issued. Bartolone’s Lifeguard & CPR Training LLC reserves the right to determine whether or not the documentation is sufficient. If documentation is not sent or if Bartolone’s Lifeguard & CPR Training LLC feels the documents you submitted do not meet course policies, no refund will be issued. In the event a participant becomes suddenly ill during an ongoing class, the participant will be excused and a 50% refund will be issued. Students will have to re-register and pay for a future class.

III. COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Waiver/Disclaimer: I hereby acknowledge that the coronavirus COVID-19 is an extremely contagious virus that spreads easily through person-to-person contact. Despite disinfection of equipment (CPR mannequins, backboards, AEDS), and use of personal barriers, there is still a chance that you could be exposed to an illness in a class. The American Red Cross has provided guidance to instructors on how to reduce contact and social distance to maintain a safe learning, however social distance isn’t always possible during the class. I accept the risk release and agree to hold harmless Bartolone’s Lifeguard & CPR Training LLC from any liability or claim that I, my heirs, or any personal representatives from any and all claims that may arise from or related to my attendance to a class held by Bartolone’s Lifeguard & CPR Training LLC, including claims concerning exposure to the COVID-19 and any resulting harm or injury including permanent disability and death. I acknowledge and agree to comply with all procedures designed to reduce the spread of Covid–19.

IV: Identification Requirements: Participants who are 17 years of age or older are required to show a driver’s license or passport with a photo ID to enter the course. Anyone under the age of 17 must provide one of the following as proof of ID: School ID that has your name and photo or a Passport (no passport cards). Participants can’t enter the course without proper identification. If a participant is taking the Lifeguard Certification course (who must be 15 by the last day of class) and if their age is in question, Bartolone’s Lifeguard & CPR Training LLC reserves the right to request a birth certificate to be presented to verify a participant's date of birth.

V: Class Time & Transportation: Bartolone’s Lifeguard & CPR Training LLC is NOT RESPONSIBLE for participants transportation to and from the course locations. Classes may end earlier than expected due to low enrollment, weather, or other circumstances. In the event of an unforeseen circumstance, classes may also need to be extended to ensure the course meets the required number of hours needed. It is the responsibility of the participant to arrange transportation that matches the end time of the course. Bartolone’s Lifeguard & CPR Training LLC reserves the right to leave a participant waiting for a ride home in care and supervision of the facility’s staff if needed.

VI: Lost & Stolen Items: Participants should bring only necessary items to class. Items such as rings, jewelry, necklaces, and non waterproof items should be left at home. Medical or religious bracelets and necklaces are exempted. Bartolone’s Lifeguard & CPR Training LLC is not responsible for any items that are lost or stolen, including items placed in participants' vehicles.

VII: Cell Phone and Technology Policy: Cell phones, airpods and wireless headphones, laptops and tablets, shall not be used during class except for viewing the assigned digital manual and assigned videos. If a participant becomes “distracted” during class while using their technology (such as but not limited to: going on social media, texting, video chatting), a warning will be issued. If this behavior continues, Bartolone’s Lifeguard & CPR Training reverses the right to revolt the participants' technology privileges until the end of class. Students are welcome to use technology during scheduled breaks that does not interfere with the safety and privacy of other participants.

VIII: Blended Learning: Some courses require the completion of Blended Learning which is a web-based portion of the course work provided by the American Red Cross. The length and amount of work varies depending on the course. This work must be completed BEFORE THE FIRST DAY OF CLASS. Bartolone’s Lifeguard & CPR Training LLC is not responsible for issues that may arise while completing the Blended Learning. If a customer experiences issues with their Blended Learning, they are to call American Red Cross Support at: 1-800-RED-CROS. Students who don’t complete the required blended learning will not be issued a certification and no refund will be issued.

IX: Behavior / Removal from Class: American Red Cross certification courses carry many professional and legal responsibilities. Participants are expected to act appropriately and maturely during class. Bartolone’s Lifeguard & CPR Training LLC reserves the right to remove a participant from class due to the following reasons: threatens the safety of other participants or instructors, consistently fails to follow instructions, is consistently disruptive, participants maturity level doesn’t align with American Red Cross expectations, participant becomes violent / physical altercation with a participant or instructor, demonstrates symptoms of impairment (drugs/alcohol), or if a student fails a pass a required course skill. Refunds are not provided for a participant who is kicked out of class.
X: Release of Liability, Medical Treatment Authorization, and Consent: As the student, legal parent, or guardian, I release and hold harmless Bartolone’s Lifeguard & CPR Training, LLC, it’s owner, operator, co-instructors, and subcontractors from any and all liability, claims, demands, and causes of action whatsoever, arising out of or related to any damage, loss, injury, including death, that may be sustained by the participant and/or the undersigned, while in or upon the premises or any premises used and supervised by Bartolone’s Lifeguard & CPR Training, LLC, it’s owner, operator, co-instructors, and subcontractors or while in route to or from any of said premises. In consideration of and through my involvement in the CPR/AED/First AId, Lifeguard Training programs, and other programs offered by Bartolone’s Lifeguard & CPR Training, LLC, at the scheduled training locations or any off-site location service are offered, I (or on behalf of my minor child), acknowledge and agree that I risk bodily injury, including paralysis, dismemberment, and death, as well as loss or damage to property; I knowingly and freely assume all such risks; and I (or on behalf of my minor child) for myself, and on behalf of my heirs, assigns and next of kin hereby release, hold harmless and promise and promise not to sue Bartolone’s Lifeguard & CPR Training LLC, it's owner, operator, co-instructors, subcontractors, any course co-instructors or subcontractors, any class training location including the owner’s residence, the instructor/s of the program, or the persons involved in the facilitation of this program, with respect to all such injury, paralysis, dismemberment, death and/or loss or damage (except that which is a result of gross negligence and/or willful or wanton misconduct.) I certify that (or on behalf of my minor child) to the best of my knowledge, I am in good physical condition, have disclosed any and all medical conditions during registration, and have no disease or injury that would impair my performance or result in injury during any program participation. In addition, I (or on behalf of my minor child) do hereby grant permission for duly authorized medical treatment by certified professionals to be administered to me (or my minor child) in the event of injury and those costs are my responsibility.
